Frequently Asked Shipping Questions How long before my order
is shipped? How long before my order is shipped? Red River ships almost all orders within 24 hours. Orders received after 3 P.M. Central Time will be shipped the next business day. What is the SafeTripSM shipping guarantee? It is our promise to insure your order arrives in great condition. Do you ship overnight or second day air? Yes. We use UPS for these expedited services. If you are ordering after 2pm Central Time, it is best to order by calling 888-248-8774. Delivery time and date are guaranteed with the exception of weather related delays. What shipping companies does Red River use? All continental USA orders are shipped by UPS only. Shipping to AK, HI, PR go via USPS Priority mail. Canadian orders go by UPS Standard Ground. If a invalid shipping choice is selected for your order, customer service will automatically switch you to the lowest cost appropriate choice and you will be billed the difference. How are shipping charges calculated? Red River charges you what we pay for shipping your order. We feel that shipping charges are a necessary cost, but one that is not to be used for profit. Why do you not offer free shipping with larger orders? Free shipping is a fine concept, but Red River wants to stress that it comes at a price if a company decides to offer it as an incentive. The "price" of freight has to come from somewhere - and that usually means higher prices on what you are buying. Red River would rather charge a fair price for shipping and keep our prices for paper lower than the competition. How does UPS calculate shipping days? UPS starts counting the day after they pick up your order from the Red River Paper dock. They do not deliver on Saturdays unless you specifically request a Saturday delivery and pay the up-charge. For 2-Day and 3-Day packages, the day you order does not count toward the delivery date - keep this in mind if you are in a hurry. Regular service shipments are not delivered on Saturday. Only Next Day Air is available for special Saturday delivery. Call 888-248-8774 to request this service. Where is Red River located / Where will my order be shipped from? We are in the Dallas, Texas. Red River strives to have our products in stock for same day shipment. If you order an item that is out of stock, you will be notified by customer service soon after you place the order. Usually, this means a phone call or an email. Items that are in stock will be shipped. Backorder items will ship as they become available via the shipping method chosen with your original order. Expedited service on backorder items is not available unless you wish to cover the cost of additional freight. Please note that the website may not be updated with the latest backorder items but in most cases reflects what we have in stock. I live on the East or West coast. How long does UPS Ground take to reach me? Both coasts are 4 days and in some cases 3 days from the day we receive your order. Customers in the far northeast and northwest are usually 5 business days. Click here for a UPS Ground time-in-transit map. Can I request special delivery instructions from UPS? In most cases no. UPS drivers are not able to comply with special requests like "Leave at backdoor" or "Leave in garage". UPS policy requires drivers to deliver the package in most cases to the front entrance of a building or residence. Safety and time constraints keep them from going into backyards or otherwise out of the way areas at a delivery location. Red River Paper will do our best to email you if we see a request that probably cannot be fulfilled, and try to help you make alternative arrangements. APO SHIPPING NOTICE - YES via USPS. What happens if my order is delivered late? UPS guarantees the delivery date of all Ground and Air packages. The time in transit and delivery date promise vary depending on your location and proximity to urban areas. Generally, if your order arrives past the promised date, we can ask UPS to refund the cost of shipping. Costs for lost time, business, and other unrelated damages will not be covered. UPS does not issue refunds for weather related problems or delays. |
