2.0 FAQ
Why the change?
Changes at the source paper mills prompted the switch to 2.0.
How's the quality of the new papers?
Our extensive testing with the 19 different inkjet printers in our test lab show the 2.0 papers offer print quality and feed reliability as good or better than the previous versions.
Name the major differences in the new papers vs. the older stocks.
- Premium Matte 2.0 - the shade is now a bluer and brighter white. Customers who have seen a preview of the new paper comment that the brighter shade is both pleasing and adds to the overall contrast of images.
- UltraPro Gloss 2.0 - The shade of the new Gloss is slightly cooler than the previous version.
- UltraPro Satin 2.0 - New UltraPro has a more neutral (warmer) shade compared to the previous version. This is mostly due to fewer optical brighteners in the paper. Fewer OBAs means less paper yellowing over time which is a benefit. The slight tone difference is noticable between versions. This is why we will sample new papers in all orders and via our free kit. You can make prints and decide for yourself.
Any changes in the sizes you will offer?
No. We will continue to offer these papers in up to 12 different sheet and roll sizes (the most comprehensive in the industry).
How will I know the paper has changed before I order?
The website will be updated when 2.0 products begin shipping. Item numbers will stay the same, but the description of changed products will include "2.0". You can sign up for email updates on product rollout here
I have a custom profile that I made for your paper. Will it work with the new version?
Most likely yes. We suggest testing your custom profiles with samples we will provide in orders or by signing up here.
