Printer Settings and Profiles

Printer setting recommendations

You can find printer settings for all Red River Paper inkjet media in our InfoCenter. We cover media settings, quality recommendations, and special tips for different printers.

I don't see your profile in my printer driver!

That is normal. The list of papers, or media types, in your printer driver dialog is fixed. It will only show the names of papers made by the printer manufacturer.

When using a printer profile from Photoshop, Lightroom, etc., we have to tell the printer the basic type of inkjet paper it is using. In this situation, you can think of it as an "ink throttle" controlling the overall density of the print. You will choose the paper or media type based on instructions that come with each profile.

Different printer profiles for different operating systems?

Nope! ICC printer profiles are "universal" in nature. They are not specific to any program or operating system. Whether you use Windows 98 or Mac OS 10.8, you will use the same printer profile for your paper and ink.
