Epson recently introduced the new 4800, 7800, and 9800 professional level inkjet printers. Using the new UltraChrome K3 inkset, these printers will allow users to print outstanding color and neutral black & white prints on a variety of media including glossy, satin, matte, and fine art.

Epson UltraChrome K3™ ink technology represents a turning-point in the history of ink jet printing. Inspired by our past-generations of pigmented ink development, Epson UltraChrome K3 incorporates a new three-level black, along with eight new color pigments dramatically raising the bar for professional color and black and white prints. Imagine producing archival prints with amazing color fidelity, gloss-level, and scratch resistance, while providing consistently stable colors that significantly outperform lesser ink technologies. Imagine producing professional neutral and toned black and white prints with higher density levels and virtually no metamerism or bronzing.

Even more remarkable, our new high-performance 1-inch wide print head produces an astonishing resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi to deliver a level of image quality and speed that even exceeds our previous best.

For the price, the Epson 4000, 7600, and 9600 were/are outstanding values. With a little computer knowledge and some time, any user can make lab quality photo and art prints using the original UltraChrome ink technology. With the advent of this new system, we feel that the possibility for creative use and savings in terms of time spent to make each print mean that digital photography and output will begin to earn the respect that the technology deserves. We already have these printers on order for personal use!
