Printing Hints

General

• Lightly brush off sheets with soft brush before printing. This will remove any debris or loose fibers from surface of sheet
• If paper is curled, feed with curl facing up. Or, give a stack of paper a slight bend the opposite direction just before feeding.

Epson UltraChrome and UltraChrome K3 printers (and other pigment inks)

• Allow prints to dry overnight before placing in album, book, or otherwise heavy handling
• Be especially careful if your prints have heavy/dark black areas. Black Epson pigment inks leave a very thin layer of dry ink on the surface of art papers when dry. This material can come off on fingers or other sheets of paper. Handle these prints with care or consider spraying them if they will be handled often. Try PremierArt spray available at various web stores.
• Use an ICC profile for best color reproduction. Red River offers profiles for Canon and Epson printers at no charge.
• Epson ICC profiles - these profiles are well built and robust. You can use the Epson Velvet Fine Art profile with Aurora if necessary. We recommend trying it to get a feel for which profile (Red River or Epson) that you like for your work.
