Custom Paper Sizes

Canon Printers

Canon drivers allow for custom printing up to 23.5" in length. Unfortunately for PC users, there is no way to save custom paper sizes for later use. You must recreate the size each time you start a new print job.

Since you cannot save a custom paper size, don't worry about this step until you are ready to print. Using your image editing software, go to the Canon printer properties when you start the print process.

Click on the Page Setup tab

Click on the Page Size drop down menu and scroll to the bottom of the list where you will see a selection "Custom..." - click it.

This dialog will appear.

1) Fill in paper width
2) Fill in paper height
3) Click OK

Mac OS X Instructions

Go to Page setup. Depending on your OS version, you may have to start Photoshop, open an image, and click Print to get to this screen. Under the Settings drop down menu, choose the Custom Paper Size option.

This dialog will appear.

Check the image at right for the order you will follow to make a custom paper size:

1) Click New
2) Fill in the Paper Size
3) Highlight and name your paper
4) Check to see that the margins are all equal - they will usually all be 0.25" all the way around
5) Click the Save button
6) Click OK

You now have a permanently saved custom paper size that will appear in your list of paper sizes.

When you click OK from the custom size menu, you will arrive back at the Page Setup dialog box.

Click on the drop down box labeled Format For and choose your printer.

Next, click the Paper Size drop down menu. You will see a listing of all sizes available for use with your printer - including the new custom size you made above. Look near the bottom of the list for any custom sizes. Choose the size you just made.
