Think of matte paper as the opposite of gloss - no shine
or reflection. However, matte papers from Red River are perfect
for vibrant and sharp photo reproduction.
HP's latest information states ultra-long
print life (resistance to fade) from their printers and certain
papers. Please note
that the choice of papers that are supposed to offer long life
is very limited. Red River recommends that if you are looking
for maximum print life from your HP printer, use only HP Premium
Plus Glossy Photo Paper and HP Premium Plus Soft Gloss Photo
Paper.»

As an informative note, HP uses dye based inks in their printers,
which are basically always prone to fade on 99% of standard
inkjet paper. HP's preferred method of extending print life is
to use special "swellable polymer" inkjet papers that protect
the ink from atmospheric gases. Red River does not offer such
a paper at this time.
