Some helpful information about acidity and what acid free truly means:
- Virtually all high quality inkjet paper today is acid free
- Acid free does not mean that your prints will last many years - what ink you choose makes all the difference
- Acidity in the coating can be helpful - a minimal acid content is sometimes used to stabilize ink
- Acid content usually means your paper will yellow slightly over time. It speeds the breakdown process of the paper itself.
- Look for totally acid free inkjet media if you are mounting the prints in a book or album. This helps keep papers from turning color over time.
