50lb. Premium Matte Double-sided Tri Fold Details & Information

Description
Description

50lb. Premium Matte Double-sided is a professional grade photo matte inkjet paper. At 9mil thickness and 185gsm weight, Premium Matte is thicker and heavier than retail brand premium matte papers. It is the perfect weight and thickness to convey superior quality and allow the paper to handle the heavy ink coverage. The surface is ultra-smooth, non-reflective, and bright white.

This paper is pre-scored in two places to easily fold into a typical brochure size.

Matte papers are excellent when you need to focus on the details of an image without any reflective distractions. They also lend a subtle character to images that might not benefit from the punch of glossy or satin media. Graphic designers, illustrators, and artists often choose matte paper because it works so well at reproducing original artwork.

Correcting My Previous Review
I stand corrected! In my recent "Less Costly?" review I said that I was unable to see any difference in the print quality of the slightly cheaper Epson 45# double sided matte paper compared to Red River 50# double sided matte paper. I make photo calendars, with a wildflower photo on one side the a monthly calendar on the other. I recently printed a water primrose, which is a vivid yellow. On the Epson paper, it printed as a pale pink. I tried several other double sided matte papers, same result. I then printed the same photo on Red River's 50# paper and it printed beautifully, in the natural yellow! I encountered the same problem with a showy partridge pea, and got the same results. Of several double sided matte inkjet papers, only Red River paper printed these flowers the way they should look. It may cost a few pennies more, but I'm sold on it now!

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Dan Shepherd
Photographer
"As a fine art photographer, how the final print looks is paramount. I like how my "Blinded by Science" series looks on an exhibition quality matte paper that is brighter than the natural tones with a bit of texture, such as the 64lb. Aurora Art White paper.""

Greeting Cards - Holiday Season was great.

Michael Adkins, Jan 03, 2026

I purchased a new Epson ET-8550 Tank Printer mainly for my art greetings cards at the beginning of the holiday season. I had a Epson ET-4800 that I loved but the transport would not feed the cards. So, I upgraded to the ET-8550 and could not be happier. The card sales over the holiday more than paid for the printer. And as aways, I love the deep contrast and values that Red River Paper provides. I have been using Red-River paper for I think ten years. And I only use Red-River paper.

Great paper for color printer projects

Kristina, Jan 02, 2026

I create a calendar of my watercolors every year, and I just love this paper, it's perfect for the job!

Christmas cards

Larry, Dec 26, 2025

After designing this year's Christmas cards, only one thing left to do is to print them. One design for each different group of people. Multiple cards can be placed on a sheet of paper, then print them. A paper cutter trims the cards, then into envelopes they go before mailing.

This paper makes the images just pop, and no distracting reflections that gloss paper can have.
