  • Some orders, because of their size or weight may not quality for free shipping.
An example of a large order that is does not qualify for fully free shipping is one deemed best to ship via pallet. Pallet shipping is solely at Red River Paper's discretion and usually applies for orders that contain a large quantity of rolls sheets. Pallet shipment is faster and more secure for large orders. Pallet shipments to locations with dock access are free. However, if your location does not have a dock, the order will incur an $85 lift-gate fee. A lift-gate is a truck that can lower a pallet to ground level. Any other charges incured such as "inside delivery" or "residential delivery" will be assessed to the customer.

Red River Paper offers flat rate ground shipping for most orders shipped to the 48 states. Time to delivery can be up to eight business days, depending on your location. If you need faster delivery, choose FedEx Ground or an air service.

We may contact you if your order is large enough for a freight (pallet) shipment. Pallet shipping is solely at Red River Paper's discretion. Pallet shipments to a residence will be charged an $85 lift-gate fee, no exceptions.

My order is "lost" in transit. What now?

We can declare an order lost if it has not been delivered eight business days from the date of shipment. At that point, and not before, will be begin a FedEx or UPS trace to locate the shipment.

Tracking Oddities - Package tracking data is not exact and can lag the actual movement of your order. In some cases it can look like the package has not moved for a couple of days. This is NOT a sign that the order is lost. We will not begin a trace because tracking data does not show movement.

If your order normally arrives in a few days and this time it has not, this is not a sign it is lost. We will always allow eight business days (for ground shipments) before contacting the carrier.

What happens if my order is delivered late?

Service guarantees were suspended in 2020 and have not returned. This applies to ground and air shipments alike.

Because delivery times are not guaranteed, there are NO REFUNDS from Red River Paper or the shipper for late deliveries

If your order has been delivered and you cannot find it, contact RRP at once. We will ask the shipper to begin a trace and search for the lost item. In rare cases, they order has been delivered to a neighbor, an incorrect address, or left in an unusual location on your property. The trace can take several days. If you cannot wait for the trace to complete, we ask that you place another order. If the original shipment is found, you can return the replacement. Shipping expenses both ways are your responsibility.

NOTE ABOUT LIABILITY - Once your order is delivered to the correct address, the shipping company and Red River Paper are released from any liability for the value of the order. To reiterate, if the order is delivered to the correct address, Red River Paper and the carrier will not replace any lost merchandise at our expense.

    If you received a damaged shipment, KEEP THE BOX, PADDING, and LABEL! Shippers require these items for insurance and refunds.

    Inspect all shipments - both the shipping box AND the contents when the shipment arrives. If you find any of your order is damaged, contact us immediately. Email [email protected] or call 888-248-8774.

    Damaged items are typically replaced with new merchandise. RRP may require photo evidence of damage. The carrier may come to your location to inspect the damage. Be prepared to pack up damaged product for shipment back to RRP.

    Any damage claims must be filed no later than 30 days after delivery.

Will the shipper leave my order at my door?

As a rule, shippers will attempt to deliver three times before sending the order back to us. Also, they typically leave a note telling you they tried to deliver and why they did not.

What happens if they try and cannot deliver your order?

In this situation, you will still be responsible for shipping costs. You will also pay shipping if you decide to have it shipped again. There is a good chance we will request a different location the second time - one you are sure will be able to accept the order.

What happens if they try to deliver and I am not home?

Leaving a package without a signature is at the discretion of the shipper driver. If they feel your location is not safe, they may hold the package and leave you a note to arrange an alternate location, a pick up, or to get your signature saying it is OK to leave the package at the original location.

If you feel your location is not secure - an apartment, busy street, etc. - please ask us to ship to another location that is secure.

Please verify your address completely before placing an order. There is a $20 address correction fee when for any changes or corrections to your address. We will get your authorization and charge the fee before making any corrections. The fee is charged to us by our shippers.

Can I request special delivery instructions?

No. Drivers will not comply with special requests like "Leave at backdoor" or "Leave in garage". Shipper policy requires drivers to deliver the package in most cases to the front entrance of a building or residence. Safety and time constraints keep them from going into backyards or otherwise out of the way areas at a delivery location. Red River Paper will do our best to email you if we see a request that probably cannot be fulfilled, and try to help you make alternative arrangements.

Do you offer Next Day or 2-Day service?

FEDEX AND UPS NO LONGER GUARANTEE DELIVERY TIME FOR AIR SHIPMENTS.

FedEx and UPS will "do their best" to get air shipments to you on time. At present, they don't make any promises other than that.

If you choose an air service and it does not arrive when expected, NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE. This is a buyer beware option.

If you order after 2pm Central Time, your order will ship the NEXT BUSINESS DAY. Business days are Monday - Friday. Saturday and Sunday are not business days.

What shipping companies do you use?

All 48 State orders are shipped by FedEx and UPS. Shipping to AK, HI, PR, USVI, military bases, and other U.S. protectorates will ship via USPS Priority mail. Canadian orders go by FedEx Ground. If a invalid shipping choice is selected for your order, client services will automatically switch you to the lowest cost appropriate choice and you will be billed the difference.

Shippers start counting the day after they pick up your order from the Red River Paper dock.

For second day and next day service, the day you order does not count toward the delivery date - keep this in mind if you are in a hurry.

Monday - Friday are business days. Saturday and Sunday are not.

How are shipping charges calculated?

Red River Paper charges you what we pay for shipping your order. We feel that shipping charges are a necessary cost, but one that is not to be used for profit.

Red River Paper strives to have our products in stock for same day shipment. If you order an item that is out of stock, you will be notified by client services soon after you place the order. Usually, this means a phone call or an email. We will hold the full order until all items are available. Expedited service on backorder items is not available unless you wish to cover the cost of additional freight.

Please note that the website may not be updated with the latest backorder items but in most cases reflects what we have in stock.

Freight Forwarder Policy

If your order ships to a freight forwarder, you agree that Red River Paper will not accept liability for damage once a package leaves the freight forwarder facility. You and the forwarder take full responsibility and bear liability for any damage noted on delivery to the final destination. The only exception is if your freight forwarder notes damage and then provides Red River Paper with photographic evidence and a description of the damage. At that point the product cannot leave the forward facility and must be held until Red River Paper and the shipper make a full investigation.

Sale price policies

Red River Paper conducts sales from time to time. Advanced warning of the sale is not guaranteed, but may occur in some cases. We do not issue refunds or credits for orders placed before the sale starting date. If your order occured within three business days of the sale, you may return the sale products at your expense and place another order. Red River cannot pay for shipping either way in this circumstance.
