Who We Serve
Red River Paper serves photographers, artists, serious home printers, print service providers, businesses, schools, and government organizations. From a single exhibition print to greeting card production or a commercial print operation, our goal is the same: help you choose the right paper and get consistently excellent results from your printer.
Our Story
Red River Paper's roots in the paper business run deeper than the company itself. Our founder came from a Dallas family that entered the paper business in 1941, and he began his own career selling paper in the early 1970s.
The idea for Red River began in 1996 with a very different product: pre-printed stationery designed to run through desktop printers. But inkjet printing was advancing quickly. In 1997, representatives from a Japanese paper company introduced our founder to a glossy paper developed for inkjet printers. He put a sheet into an HP inkjet printer, saw the quality of the print, and recognized where printing was headed.
That print changed the direction of Red River Paper.
The company shifted its focus to inkjet photo paper, and that first product became our 32lb. Premium Gloss. We carried it for nearly 20 years while expanding into a much broader collection of photo, fine art, and specialty inkjet papers sourced from paper makers around the world.
Later in 1997, current owner and president Drew Hendrix joined Red River Paper in sales. After nearly two decades with the company, Drew began planning its next chapter with the founder as he approached retirement. The transition was completed in 2017, when Drew purchased Red River Paper and became its owner.
