My Go-To Greeting Card Polar Matte Paper

As a hobby, I make all-occasion cards with covers featuring photographs taken by my husband and me. The 60-lb. Polar Matte Double-Sided 7x10 Greeting Card stock has been my favorite for several years. The printing surface and weight of the paper is perfect for my needs. Images print perfectly on both the inside and outside of the greeting cards.

What to do with thousands of pictures? Make calendars and greeting cards for my friends, of course. The calendars had to be big, of course, and they had to be perfect, printed to my own standards. Because I was printing them myself I could do this, and do it economically.
Polar Matte 230 Double-Sided 11"x17" worked beautifully with my Epson ET-8550. I had no problem with the paper, and the print quality was superb. In normal, diffuse room light the paper is comparable to glossy paper in contrast. I actually prefer matte because the results are beautiful and reflections are suppressed. I wish that size came in grain long, but nevertheless it is thick and stiff enough for landscape orientation in calendars.
In 10 calendars (130 double-sided sheets) I did not have a single defective print. I had no problem with feeding small stacks, and I did not have a single misfeed with Polar Matte. The paper sheds little or no dust into the printer, which can be a problem with some matte papers.
Compared to the alternatives, the total cost per sheet is very modest, which is important for calendars. Thank you, Red River.

This paper was recommended to me by a professional photographer and I love the matte finish it gives my photos. They turn out great.
