This was to be my B&W choice. One drawback is baryta is soft surface. I like the sheen like a air dry F surface Epson ET small printers will emboss lines, so use a 13" and above with an adjustable thickness. It will be OK.

Like the darkroom

Amazing paper for black and white photography

Haf a Century

I was surprised when the owner of the Tobin art gallery in Tacoma, Washington, asked me if he could do a 50 year retrospective on my work. The Tobin gallery is one of the finest art galleries in the city.

I have never specialized in any one type of photography. A picture is either good or bad and not good or bad because of a genre. I have photographed all over the world, from Mexico to Russia. Most of the work has been personal. Unless working on a magazine assignment, I seldom sell my photographs. I hate charging for anything. If someone wants a photograph they are welcome to it.

Years ago, after discovering Red River paper, I have never used anything else. They have a paper for any situation. Recently I have had three one man exhibitions. In every one I have credited Red River paper.

For this showing I chose Big Ben Baryta 310 . It’s a thick and sturdy paper with just the hint of texture and sheen. The prints resemble darkroom prints. Whatever Red River paper one chooses, you can always expect a quality product.

Echoing "Like being back in the darkroom."

I'm agreeing with a previous posting on February 10.

I wanted to give a shout-out for Big Bend Baryta because it reminds me of a heavy Ilford paper I used 45 years ago. The rich blacks that get reproduced in Big Bend are wonderful. And the "feel" of the paper took me back to darkroom days, as well.

I'm already a big fan of the Polar Gloss Metallic/Lustre 255, but I'm looking at my raw files differently now with this addition to the RR portfolio.

Thanks to the R&D department who make this product possible. We concur: It works VERY WELL.
