Paper feed is related to your printer's design and age. It can also hinge on your willingness to put some extra work into the process with heavy and thick papers.
* Heavy cotton art papers may not consistently auto-feed in the top main paper tray. They can be fed by hand easily, and may feed without assistance on some occasions. Returns on this paper are not accepted on the basis of feed problems.
* If your printer has a specialty media path, we recommend you use it with this paper. If you only have a top paper tray, you can use this product one sheet at a time.

Perfect: PALO DURO SOFTGLOSS RAG 315
Cheryl M Stewart, Aug 14, 2026
CEO Client wanted photos from cell phone to be blown up and framed depicting their company's origin locations for his office. They looked horrible. I was able to create artist pen and ink renderings which could not have printed any better than they did on the Palo Duro Softgloss Rag paper. I ordered it on a tight deadline and was able to get in plenty of time to meet the deadline.

PaloDuro
randall hale, Aug 10, 2026
I spent my first summer printing with Palo Duro, which I believe was the now discontinued Fiber version. The following summer (2026) I ordered a suppy of the Rag version, mistakingly thinking the paper I'd used in 2025 was back by popular demand. Big mistake. This alternate Palo Duro variety was equally superb in every respect BUT for its pronounced sandpaper-like texture. I will not use this paper again; it does NOT emulate the feel and characteristics of genuine darkroom papers of earlier times. And towards that end Red River's Big Bend Baryta, I think, is perhaps the better choice and the only paper I've used so far that takes me back. It's likely the only paper that I will use in the future and, God-willing, it will not be discontinued.
100% Cotton Luster Paper!
LINDA DEVENOW, Aug 10, 2026
I do recommend Red River paper to my fellow photographers and any one else who asks. I especially appreciate that Red River has US customer support that answers the phone and email promptly. Via the paper, I am a luster paper shooter and am glad you offer Luster paper that is 100% cotton. I have suggested a couple times to Red River that you offer the Palo Duro Softgloss or another Red River luster paper for 5x7 slotted cards.
