The secret to deep blacks is a barrier coat between the paper and inkjet receiving layer. Ink stays locked into the soft gloss layer and cannot sink into the paper base. The results are luxurious deep blacks.

This has become my choice for final prints that fit the need a textured rag paper. It captures, with a custom ICC, both the hearty and the subtle nuanced aspects of a print. The slight sheen gives it a bit of energy, and the colors are accurate.

I've been using Palo Duro Soft Gloss for 8 years as my main paper. Previously I used a Platine paper and I feel that the Red River is equivalent and easier to buy with more size options. I get exhibition quality results with five shows this year and hope Red River keeps this paper around!
