I'm a believer now

I've always been a hardcore gloss paper guy. Something about that vibrant, shiny contrast that I couldn't get with other papers. I've been proven wrong with the RR Polar Matte paper. I got a box of matt paper just in case I found a use for it some day. For kicks, I printed a wildlife image on the RR Glossy, RR Metallic and the Polar Matt. I couldn't believe the vibrance and contrast the Matt paper delivered, looked identical as the gloss but without the glare and reflections. I have a feeling it will be my go-to paper going forward.

After a long search for double sided matte paper for cards, I finally found you. This is beautiful paper and prints the colors with pzazz. I also appreciate the care you take with the company. Clearly it is in loving hands.

From their comprehensive website to customer service that is second to none, in fact they took care of me better than they should have! Their paper? Yeah, awesome too.

I sell fine art prints and have been pretty satisfied with my paper of choice. The thing I haven't been impressed with is how the paper is handled during transit, which has led to a significant loss of paper. I was led to Red River via a Facebook ad and decided to try the sample kits. I really liked the small business feel of Red River - this is the kind of business I want to support. I can't even put into words how impressed I am. The quality far outshines my former paper and the prices on almost every size are much better. Red River will now be my main paper supplier and I can't wait to share this quality with my customers. The saturation is gorgeous and my printer handles the paper so well. And I also want to acknowledge how well my order was packed - I can tell Red River really cares about the experience from start to finish and that really means a lot. I'm now a loyal Red River paper user!

60LB Polar Matte Comes up short with 13"x19"prints

I have been using 60LB Polar Matte for 5x7" greeting cards with great success for some time now. So I decided to purchase a box of 13x19" for some of my framed images. The first print out of the box was of the 2020 Halloween full moon which of course had deep blacks in the sky for a large portion of the print. I use the Red River Polar Matte profile and the settings recommended for my Epson P800 printer, printing from Lightroom. To my disappointment, the paper rippled and does not lay flat, even after several days of drying. Unacceptable for framing. I called customer support and was told I should reduce saturation on my printer, but it is the saturation that gives the deep rich blacks. I asked if maybe the 88LB Polar Matte might not be a better solution and asked if I could return the 60LB and exchange it for the 88LB version. I was discouraged from doing this because the customer support rep told me the 88LB might do the same thing. I printed the same image on 13x19" Epson Legacy Fibre with no problem. Looks like I wasted $40 on a box of Red River Paper.
Hello Paul! I am sorry the Polar Matte did not meet your liking. If you want a paper that is similar to the Epson Legacy Fibre, I recommend our Palo Duro Smooth Rag 310 which is also a smooth cotton-based paper. Cotton paper can handle heavy saturation more than matte papers made from wood pulp.

We have purchased a lot of different papers and sizes from Red River Paper. The quality is great. We purchased Polar Matte Greeting card size 6.25 x 9. We have a Canon Pixma Pro 100. I cannot print borderless print due to card size. Canon does not permit borderless printing on custom sizes. So we don't waste paper we have not been able to print one card. Really made a mistake this time.

So pleased I found Red River

I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer. I encountered difficulty with getting good color from my Epson R2400 while trying to print a favorite photo. I turned to my Canon MX922 and had success with a 4X6 but I wanted a 5X& print. Canon does not have 5X7 matte photo paper so I turned to the web for help. There I found Red River Paper and every aspect of my brief relationship with them has been superior. I'm looking forward to trying out their perforated paper for my 2014 Christmas cards. In the meantime I've just ordered a sample pack so I can test out the different types of paper offered. I'm excited!
