Solves a Big Problem

I occasionally (holidays) print note cards with fine art or landscape photos and use major brand fine art card stock of competitors. I have never liked how detailed high contrast/high dynamic range images print on the competitors cards. Fine detail seems to get lost and I don't like the look of the printed product. This Polar Matte is excellent as I get that fine detail back without any reflection as I also don't want the card to look like a glossy photograph folded in half. Some images look better on the coarser less white art card stock I've been using and some look better on this Polar Matte. Before I just didn't bother trying to print certain images on cardstock. So happy to have found this paper. For the record I print these with a Canon Pixma Pro with Adobe Elements as the editor. The only wrinkle in the process is that I get more accurate printed images by not using Red Rivers ICC profile and changing the interface to the printer handling colors. Its not supposed to work that way and probably has something to do with some setting I've bungled between Elements and the printer but I don't care, they are coming out beautiful and are selling. I've also switched from Canons paper to Red River Ultrapro Satin for black and white and it's far superior with no "Canon Color Cast" problem.

This Paper Saved My Printers From Total Destruction

I was trying to get good quality art prints and was struggling with both a laser and an inkjet printer. Everything was coming out bad, no matter what settings or color profiles I used. I tried glossy paper, matte paper, card stock. It all looked terrible. Nothing I tried would make my reds print even close to red. All of the colors were either wrong or too dark. On a whim, I decided to try Polar Matte 230 on my Epson inkjet and I used the color profiles Red River made available. The difference was like night and day. The colors came out bold, vibrant, and red! This paper saved me from opening a second story window and throwing both of my printers out of it. That's how frustrated I was. I will absolutely order this product again. The file I'm attaching is an art print that was designed to look like needlepoint. I was thrilled with how they look on Polar Matte 230.

Excellent color and very affordable, so I’m able to make a huge profit from prints! I do not advertise these as archival, but I haven’t seen any fading from the ones hanging in my home. The only odd thing is the alignment is slightly off. It always prints off center by a tiny bit, like 1/16”. The other paper I have from Red River does not do that, but I’m assuming it’s an issue with my printer, not the paper
