Polar Matte 230 Greeting Cards Details & Information

Description
Product Name Change

60b. Polar Matte is now Polar Matte 230. The same paper - new name. We are changing names to reflect the metric weight instead of pound weight. You will see this change throughout our product line.

Red River Paper Polar Matte greeting cards combine professional photo quality with the practicality needed for card making. Cut to size and pre-scored for easy, clean folding, these cards feature the same Polar Matte surface trusted by photographers and artists.

The soft white, non-reflective matte finish delivers excellent ink holdout and smooth tonal detail on the front, while the plain paper back is ideal for printing messages, text, or light graphics on the inside. The substantial 230gsm weight gives each card a high-end feel that stands up to handling, mailing, and display.

Takes Some Learning

Tommy M Savage, Jul 26, 2026

This is good low cost paper but it requires learning by expedience. Mat paper reduces the contrast of the image so needs extra contrast added before printing. How much to add requires the experience.

The best paper for my prints

Haya Patel, Jul 13, 2026

Polar matte will forever be my number one go to for all my regular fine art prints. They turn out crisp and truest to color compared to other paper I've sampled, the thickness is lovely and the feel is so nice and smooth. I'm so excited to get the double sided version so I can start making zines and bookmarks with it :)

Great paper

Linda Cummings, Jul 12, 2026

After trying a less expensive paper and being unhappy with the results. Red River paper came through beautifully.
