If you print, you have to have UltraPro Satin in your paper inventory. It produces professional quality results and works with virtually any image. The UltraPro Satin looks and feels just like photo lab satin - a lightly textured surface that breaks up reflections and minimizes fingerprints. UltraPro Satin features a medium depth texture - just the right amount to enhance your prints without being distracting. A brilliant, bold white, it is particularly good at reproducing deep blacks and higher contrast. You will see a wider color gamut as well as smoother tonal transitions. Your black & white photos will be neutral and crisp.

I tried out many papers looking for an RC semi gloss to replace easily scratched (in Epson Stylus Pro 3880) Epson Exhibition Fiber. The problem with the 3880 is spur wheel transport mechanism puts parallel marks, 1/8 inch separation, across printed ink surface. On Exhibition Fiber the wheels actually scratch the surface. These marks are less visible on RC stock.\r\n\r\nI tried Epson Premium Semi-Gloss, Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl and Red River UltraPro Satin on a black and white photo test. The RR Ultra Pro Satin won the tryout. All 3 papers have basically similar surface but the UltraPro Satin surface was more fiber like, slightly warmer which is good for my black and white images, a thicker feeling paper stock. RR also has more detailed archival information. Ultra Pro Satin has an acid free paper base, less OBAs and should have a longer archival future. Epson and Ilford are vague about lightfastness. I want to feel that I'm selling the best, museum quality digital prints possible. I'm ordering a box of 17x25 tomorrow.\r\n\r\n

Great paper to print fine detailed art on! It's my go to for detailed or dark images. The details are sharper and never get muted in the paper.

I use UltraPro Satin for my scrapbook prints, and it has become one of my favorite photo papers. It produces beautiful, vibrant colors with very little reflection or glare. It also looks fantastic for black-and-white photography, with excellent contrast and detail.

I use this paper primarily for wildlife photography and sporting events, and I’ve been very pleased with the results. The satin finish gives the photos a professional appearance without the excessive shine of a glossy paper. It’s a great all-around photo paper for colorful action shots, wildlife images, and black-and-white prints.
