I bought this baryta paper as part of a 2nd gen. RR paper order after much success with RR Artic Polar Luster and Polar Matte papers. I've heard good things about baryta papers, so I bought a box to compare with my other papers. I am impressed with my initial printing results: good detail, colors, and contrast. I'll likely have this paper on the shelf for continued use when I want a result that is less glossy than APL.

The Palo Duro Baryta combined with the Big Bend Baryta paper make a wonderful pair for all printing. The main difference is the finish with the Big Bend having a "slicker" finish while the Palo Duro has a more textured diffused finish that works well with most images. The Palo Duro Baryta reminds one of the great black and white printing papers of the darkroom days. Over the past month I have tried samples for about every Baryta on the market and have chosen the Palo Duro Baryta and Big Bend Baryta as my bread and butter printing paper since it a neutral toned paper with high DMax, bright whites, high contrast for black and white prints and deep rich color for color prints. The subject content determines which surface I use.

Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 has quickly become one of my go-to papers. The paper has a nice weight to it, with just the right amount of luster to the finish. And the colors come out rich.

Nothing achieves the quality of a darkroom print, but this paper comes closer than any other! Palo Duro Baryta paper is a thick paper and, even as a 13"x20" print it retains a high-quality tonation.

I first purchased a sample pack to run some test prints. The richness of the Colors and feel of the paper have me hooked. I later purchased the 13x19. I think I have found my forever paper for most of my prints.

I'm blown away. I've only made like 5 prints on 5x7 so far but this paper is incredible. The only other fine art paper I've used from RR was the big bend baryta and and to me this beats it. Don't get me wrong, BBB is very nice it's just a bit smooth for what I was looking for. I'm used to the more textured look and feel of hahnemuhle photo rag baryta 315 and this is a very close match for what's likely cents on the dollar. It's got a really nice richness to it and feels like a legitimate heavyweight photo rag. If it wasn't already decided, RR is the only paper brand I'll be purchasing.

I stumbled on this paperwork quite by accident, glad I did. Great paper if you're looking for a Luster finish. Great value. Printing on a Prograf1000, the results are stunning. This will be my go to paper for the bulk of my printing.

I love the thickness of this paper and the luster surface. I also like that it is one-sided as I use it mostly for greeting card. I highly recommend this paper

Some of the people I work with, like a little shine to their prints and Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 is just right. I have only used 5x7 and 8x10 sizes but they both provide the results that I am looking for.

Pretty nice, but the texture...

I enjoy the color reproduction and reflectivity of this paper, and with a museum grading I'm sure it will last a long time. I don't particularly like the surface texture, it's quite uneven and this makes my images appear less sharp upon close inspection. Some people will surely enjoy the natural feel, but I prefer the evenness of a luster surface. This paper is also fairly delicate (though not as delicate as the Softgloss rag), so handle with care. I like the weight and thickness of the Baryta but my Canon Pro-100 did scratch a test sheet so it may be too thick for standard settings. I had thought this would be my paper of choice but the surface texture is too much of a drawback for me so I'm going with something else. If the San Gabriel 2.0 version ever comes back in stock then I'll consider that one.
