Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 offers all of the rich tonality, depth, and feel of a traditional wet darkroom fiber paper. It has a lightly textured semigloss surface, which adds depth and an elegant reflectivity to the finished print. Palo Duro Baryta Fiber is a pleasant neutral white that adds natural richness to portraits and landscapes. Black & White images also benefit from Palo Duro Baryta Fiber's deep blacks and exceptional contrast. Use Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 for your final product to surpass gallery and museum expectations.

Whether color or Monochrome, this paper is hard to beat. The richness of tonality and deep finish is superb.

Superb for black and white images

Don't get me wrong, this paper shines for many different applications but I have found that it really excels with portraiture-especially b&w's. It is similar to Canon's Pro Luster product but thicker and richer in tonality. Give this paper a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I've been doing my own printing for many years. I've also used several different papers from matte to luster finish in search of a look and feel that has been hard to quantify. The RR Palo Duro Bayrta Fiber 300 is now my go to paper for any image that requires detail, great density and finish. It along with the RR Palo Duro Smooth Rag 310 are two of the best papers I've used in the past 20 years. Palo Duro Bayrta Fiber 300 is the perfect paper for landscapes, details and pop. Palo Duro Smooth Rag 310 is the perfect paper for those images that I want to look like fine art book illustrations. I love these papers. I also really appreciate the great customer service from RR, how the papers are packaged for delivery and how well they perform, time after time.

Just loaded my Epson P6000 with Red River Paulo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 and printed a 36”x24” landscape for a customer. I love the traditional baryta texture and the colors are spot on. I’m very pleased.

what paper to purchase for a 17x22 size paper package

I got an Epson P900 printer and wanted to purchase a package of 17x22 inch paper. Which paper to buy? I tried test shots with innumerable Red River papers and came up with Palo Duro Baryta as the paper closest to my beloved discontinued Red River San Gabriel paper. I am printing pictures that I took with my iPhone at a Vincent Van Gogh exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. Printed and framed, using Museum glass, an 11x14 of A Walk at Twilight and hung it today. I had some dry wall/painter guys doing some work for me and they couldn't get over how beautiful it turned out. I also printed and framed a Van Gogh Olive Groves picture from the same show. This was 16x20 using Red River Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 17x22 paper. It was amazing, but I have to admit not as amazing as the San Gabriel print, but it could have been because I used acrylic rather than Museum Glass. The real test will be in a couple of weeks when my third Van Gogh print will be ready. 10x21 printed on Red River Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 17x22 paper and custom framed with museum glass. I also purchased a 50 sheet package of Palo Duro Baryta of 8.5x11. I like this paper.

I disagree with the customer who found the pint quality lacking - Palo Duro Baryta 300 is what I have settled on for my museum portfolio prints. I have run the gamut of the Canson, Epson, etc baryta papers and for the price and if you know how to print, the RRPD300 is equal in quality - although I do wish it had the feel and weight of the the RR Softgloss rag (but not the texture) and some of the other companies papers. Also, I don't think the Red River profiles are all that great, so you have to figure out the profile curve for yourself. I have found this the case with most most papers, so it is not that big a deal - this is all just my opinion from my experience. RRPD baryta 300 is very consistent from box to box works well for portfolio print-to-print consistency.

Palo Duro Baryta has a subtle semi-gloss finish that reduces glare and reflection but avoids the sometimes flat appearance of matte papers. Colors and contrast are beautiful and prints have convincing depth.

I ordered Palo Duro Baryta Fiber 300 to compare with Exhibition Fiber and Ultra Premium Luster paper. Each paper has advantages, but the Baryta Fiber's strengths lie in its neutral white color and its subtle semi-gloss finish. These features are particularly useful in printing B&W, but I have had very good results with color images as well (on Epson P700 and P900 printers).
