Premium Matte 230 Post Cards Details & Information

Description
Description
Product Name Change

60b. Premium Matte is now Premium Matte 230. The same paper - new name. We are changing names to reflect the metric weight instead of pound weight. You will see this change throughout our product line.

Premium Matte 230 is a professional-grade photo matte inkjet paper. At 11 mil thickness and 230 gsm, Premium Matte Plus is thicker and heavier than retail-brand premium matte papers. The extra weight and thickness convey superior quality and allow the paper to handle the heaviest ink coverage. The surface is ultra-smooth, non-reflective, and bright white.

Matte papers are excellent when you need to focus on the details of an image without any reflective distractions. They also lend a subtle character to images that might not benefit from the punch of glossy or satin media. Graphic designers, illustrators, and artists often choose matte paper because it works so well at reproducing original artwork.

Ideal for:
  • Color and black & white photography where detail perception is important
  • Anyone who likes the subtle non-reflective matte finish
  • Art reproductions, graphics, illustrations, posters
  • Any inkjet printer
Good to know:
  • Thicker and heavier than retail brand premium matte papers
  • Smooth, non-reflective surface. Bright white tone.
  • Universally compatible with dye and pigment inks
  • Acid free base stock. Acid free coating.
  • There are no markings or logos on the back
  • Back of this product is plain paper, suitable for text printing

Premium Matte 230

Judith Barkan, Mar 15, 2026

Another outstanding product from Red River Paper! I helped a friend with 100 "save the date" cards for his upcoming wedding using a photo he and his fiancée chose, text, and some decorative elements. They all printed perfectly on both sides - thanks again, Red River Paper!

Very nice low cost print paper.

For basic prints this is nice. Icc profiles worked very well with color balance. Good job. Nice paper.

Why I like RR Premium Matte 230

Andrew Greenhill, Mar 09, 2026

In January 2025 I purchased a Canon 2600 which is a 24" roll paper printer. I had previously owned an Epson 7900 that was 14 years old and the print head was beyond repair. I had wasted most of the ink in the Epson cleaning the nozzles because I didn't use it frequently enough. I wanted to use a quality matte paper and print frequently and have a large collection of prints of uniform size. I decided to make all these prints using 17" rolls with each print on a 12x17" section of the roll. With each roll I produce 100 prints. The paper quality is excellent and heavy enough for handling and matting. I've used the paper for exhibits. Each print costs around $1.00 for the paper and ink. I now have a large inexpensive collection of some of my favorite images while not wasting a lot of ink keeping the print head clean.
