Note Cards

I have used the polar matte for years to print my notecards, and they have been fantastic. The cards come out beautiful and sell very well because of the high quality feel of the paper.

Polar Matte first experience 8.5X11 (50 pack)
Ari Gerentes, Apr 27, 2026
Good overall paper feel, but I have wasted a full box trying to profile correctly the paper to my printer and inks. There is an over rendering of redness that I can not manage to adjust. icc profiles look great on screen clear of any gamut but prints come out too red for my likeness. I even used the custom profiles from Red River for Epson 4800 and even though on landscapes red was managed a little better, on portraits redness on face skin is way too much.
I hope to find a solution soon.
Compared to Epson Enhanced Matte Red River Polar Matte feels much better I like it more if I could only adjust for the extra red rendering.
Compared to Canon Matte I kind of like Canon a little better, ( on both Epson and Canon I had no issues with adjusting red casting.)
