Papers with the Archival designtation can take many forms. They can be glossy, matte, canvas, or an artistic product. These papers are acid free, lignin free and can be made of virgin tree fiber (alpha cellulose) or 25-100% cotton rag. They are likely to have optical or fluorescent brightening agents (OBAs) - chemicals that make the paper appear brighter white. Presence of OBAs does not indicate your image will fade faster. It does predict a slow change in the white point of your paper, especially if it is displayed without UV filter glass or acrylic.
Archival Grade Summary
Numerous papers - made from tree or cotton content
Acid and lignin free base stock
Inkjet coating layer acid free
Can have OBAs in the base or the coating
Photobase Coating Acidity
Photobase resin coated (RC) inkjet papers always have a slightly acidic coating. The acid content (pH 6.8) makes instant ink drying possible. The level of acid content is not high enough to affect print stability over time.
The base stock of all Red River inkjet papers are acid free.
I absolutely love these cards. The paper feels fantastic and holds the color from my Canon Pro 1000 very nicely.

Superb Greeting Cards

I've been searching for months for white double-sided greeting cards since my original supplier discontinued my previous cards. I'm more than pleased to have discovered the papers of Red River Paper, more especially the 60lb double-sided greeting cards. The cards print true color on my Canon TR7020. The results are fantastic! I live in western Canada and can also vouch for the very good service and delivery from Red River Paper.

This is a sturdy sheet that does a beautiful job on my inkjet printer. I love that it is double sided. I am a graphic designer and I do a lot of double sided work. Great coverage. The printing is so crisp and clear on this sheet. Such an improvement over many paper stocks I've previously tried.

I tried the 60# Polar Matte Double-sided Greeting Card stock instead of my usual Aurora Art White 300. I found the 60# Polar Matte was a significant improvement on my Epson P600 - it fed flawlessly (no need to keep cleaning the rollers) even after several dozen card printings. This is now my go-to greeting card stock going forward. Very, very happy with this.

I use Red River Paper in the junk journals (handmade heirloom books) that I make. The digitals and photographs that I use print beautifully with rich color and an almost satin smooth finish.

The double sided Art Matte paper has been wonderful for printing my illustrations. The color pops, and could pass for my original colored pencil and ink work. I really love this option, especially the crisp, smooth look it produces. Thank you!

WHAT CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT US
Using Red River for Exhibit Prints
I publish photo-essays in book form but use Red River Paper for numerous exhibits, many in association with a photo essay. I sell prints, sometimes via my website. I was first attracted to Red River by its reasonable price. I was later encouraged to try higher priced papers by portrait photographers. I liked the higher priced papers, but in a side by side comparison, could not find any justifiable reason to choose them over Red River. The Red River Ultra Pro Satin reminds me of the E-surface papers I used during the 20 years I owned and operated a portrait studio. I like rich color saturation and I get it with Red River Ultra Pro Satin.
