Reclaiming What Would Have Been Waste

Aurora is 100% fiber made from cotton linters. These linters are considered "recovered fibers" by the EPA. By using linters, Aurora production is putting to use what would have become waste. It's a win for the environment and a win for you!

I used this paper for close up Loon photos and the blacks were absolutely incredible! It brought a new found clarity to the other colors surrounding the objects. This is my now my go to paper...and the photos are selling like crazy. Love it

"I chose Red River's Aurora Art Natural paper. The paper is more fine-surfaced than a raw, fine art, rag paper and it's that quality that provides great earthy texture and tone to evoke vintage themes."

Reviews for Aurora Art Natural 250®

Artist's favorite

I create prints for my artist friends and they all love this paper! I have a friend that does pencil drawings of feathers that are SUPER detailed and my prints are indistinguishable from the originals. Her work hangs in the Audubon Society in Pennsylvania with John Audubon's works! I also create cards which they sell in their gift shop.

Unfortunately disappointed
Jennifer Leichty

Coloring was dull and not as vibrant or detailed as other fine art papers I have used in the past. Disappointed with the quality and was not able to make a return.
Jennifer - Sorry to hear that Aurora did not meet your expectations. We will contact you via email to review setting, printer make and model, and see if we can improve on those results.

Aurora Art Natural 250 for Art Prints
Maria Palmer
I purchased this paper to use for art prints of my watercolor paintings. It has just enough texture to embrace the watercolor elements and prints are outstanding. I will continue to use this paper.

Favorite Paper for Watercolor Reproductions
A photographer friend who always raves about RRP turned me onto the Aurora Art Natural 250 paper after I decided to start making prints of my watercolor illustrations. I've tried multiple papers for making archival prints and this 100% cotton, natural-toned paper is perfect for my needs - it is very similar to the hot press cotton watercolor paper I create my original paintings on. I use an Epson SC-P700 and have no trouble feeding one sheet at a time as long as I clean the rollers regularly. Otherwise, the rollers collect a lot of lint from the cotton paper and will cause the printer to misfeed. I'm very pleased with the paper, the packaging, and the customer service at Red River Paper.

Fine Art Finish to Greeting Cards
Joanna Worster
I use the Aurora Art Natural card stock when I want bright color but not a glossy finish. I have been very happy with the results for landscape and flower as well as animal photos.

Aurora Art Natural greeting card stock

Well, I usually print my cards on 60# Pecos river Gloss. I bought the Aurora Art Natural on a whim to try, because it was on sale. It is a very good paper but I still prefer the Pecos River I will use this paper but won't be buying it again.

Printing my holiday cards and note cards is a breeze with this paper. It made them special to all who received them. I have used this paper for years for cards and also the roll or sheet for artwork and artist books.

Wonderful paper, but not with my Canon PRO-1000
Alan S Kay
Verified Buyer
I love this stock, but I simply can't use it with the PRO-1000. Despite attempts at help from Canon and RR support, I simply could not get it to feed -- even single sheets with hand assistance went less than half the time. So I won't be ordering any more of this -- too bad!
Hello Alan! Thank you for the review! I am not sure if you tried alcohol swabs on the feed roller or printer cleaning sheets, but those may help! We also have an anti-static brush that can remove any dust from cotton papers like Aurora to help it feed (all found on our Accessories page).

Feeding multiple greeting cards might be a problem
Harry Newell
Verified Buyer
I liked the way my greeting card prints looked on Art Natural 250, but I found that I had to babysit attempts at printing multiple sheets on my Canon pro-100. Even after I carefully cleaned the rollers, my attempts at printing even half a dozen cards unattended failed. I tried both alcohol swabbing the rollers, and Canon's roller cleaning utility without success.
Hello Harry, Thank you for your review! Fine art cotton papers usually require more care (feeding one at a time) and are ideal for limited edition print runs when you want a high end card or print. Our Polar and Premium matte are better if you need archival prints more efficiently at a lower cost.
